While showing fractions, a fraction line is drawn in the middle, the numerator above the line and the denominator below it. The denominator shows how many equal parts a whole is divided into, and the numerator shows how many of these parts have been taken or scanned. TYPES OF FRACTURES 1) simple fractions Fractions whose numerator is less than the denominator are called simple fractions. UNIT FRAGRANCE: Simple fractions that have a numerator of 1 are called unit fractions. 2) compound fractions Fractions whose numerator is greater than or equal to the denominator are called composite fractions. 3) integer fractions Fractions expressed by an integer and a simple fraction are called integer fractions.
